Silver lingham casket ( ayigalu or shivahara) in" round pot"shape, containing a movable (jangama) lingam...This box ( containing the lingham) is nicer from those you can usualy see by its weight ( relatively heavy) and its finition and so is also a piece for collectors!. If the cord is recent (inevitably renewed regularly) this object dates from the early 20th century...The “Lingayat” carry a small whole lingam around their neck, arranged in a nice silver case. Each day, the lingam is held in the hollow of the hand, the excessively pious person fixes his attention on the black stone inside while repeating will mantra it “Om namah shivaya”...
